At Resolution Medical, innovation isn’t just a goal; it’s a way of life. Embracing the ethos of iteration and continuous improvement, we focus on transparency, speed to market, quality, and cost for our customers, ushering in a new era of efficiency and effectiveness in new product development (NPD).
Behind the Stage Gate
Our Stage Gate process is a dynamic framework that adapts to the unique needs and challenges of each project. Unlike rigid, one-size-fits-all methodologies, our process is built on constant refinement and evolution. Our process starts from our very first customer interaction, leaning in to learn project goals and consulting together to guide customers on best fit needs. We then bring in subject matter experts to kick off the entire project and engage throughout its entirety. Drawing from insights gained through repeated iterations and diverse customer engagements, we’ve tailored this process to address the varied requirements of projects, ensuring that every endeavor is set up for success from the outset.
Different customers come with different sizes, desired outcomes, and endpoints for their programs. We’ve found that a one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t work. Our iterative approach and lessons learned have helped us develop a new Stage Gate program. This refined process allows us to keep an eye on business decisions and manufacturing endpoints earlier in the process, guiding our customers effectively.

Leveraging Process for Tangible Outcomes
It’s not just about having a robust process; it’s about leveraging that process to drive tangible outcomes. By focusing on the process early on, we avoid the pitfalls of brilliant but unscalable ideas. Instead, we channel team efforts into developing solutions that are not only innovative but also manufacturable and scalable. Through a strategic blend of cutting-edge technologies and hands-on coaching, our team guides our partners toward realizing their goals, whether it’s a manufacturing product or a clinical endpoint.
With our deep manufacturing capabilities, some customers aim for high yields, cost-effective manufacturing, some are interested in prototyping, and others are clinical endpoint focused. Many design houses can create something unique, but they can’t always take it further. Our great design team and concept group can invent from ideas, and we have the process to keep passing the project to skilled teams, pushing it down the road to a manufacturable product.

Evolving Technology and Capabilities
Our focus on process early on helps us prevent the issue of talented engineers creating amazing designs that aren’t scalable. From top to bottom, we are evolving our technology, including laser cutting, molding, and 3D printing. These are great development tools, but we also identify where they may lack long-term viability and coach our customers accordingly, whether it’s for a manufacturing product or a clinical endpoint.
Communication, Accountability, and Ownership
Clear communication, accountability, and ownership are the cornerstones of our NPD approach. From setting expectations for NPI and development delivery to ensuring seamless transitions into operations, every step of the process is marked by transparency and collaboration. Unlike traditional contract manufacturers, we invite teams to participate in every aspect of the development journey, from ideation to commercialization.
Engaging with contract manufacturers can sometimes be challenging due to limited transparency. However, at Resolution Medical, we prioritize collaboration and ensure complete transparency in our documentation, methods, and overall approach, making the process smooth and straightforward for our customers.
