Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Steven Schmidt is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Resolution Medical, LLC. Previously, Steve was the Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Business Development at Greatbatch Medical for cardiac rhythm management, neurology, vascular and orthopedic product lines. Other roles included Director of Technology Vascular, Director of Operations, Product Line Director Power Sources, Director of Product Development Implantable Capacitors, and various management roles in Engineering. Prior to joining Greatbatch, he spent 8 years at Delphi Thermal Systems in Manufacturing Engineering Management. He has a Master of Business Administration from Cornell and Queens University. Also, he holds a Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Buffalo.
Founder & President
Mr. Shawn Patterson is currently the President of Resolution Medical. Shawn has over eighteen years of experience in the medical device industry spanning across many functions including Research, Development, Operations, Lean & Manufacturing Engineering, Process Development, Automation, Program Management and Business Development. He has significant experience with active implantable devices and components in the Cardiovascular, CRM, Neuromodulation and Structural Heart markets. Previously, Shawn held numerous leadership positions at Greatbatch Medical, QiG, and Wilson Greatbatch Technologies.
Shawn holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and Masters of Business Administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
Along with leading Resolution Medical, Shawn is very active in raising his wonderful children with his lovely wife Brynn in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He loves the outdoors, spending cold winters coaching and playing ice hockey and skiing with his family. When the ice melts, Shawn and family typically spend free time adventuring outdoors, including racing J24 sailboats on weeknights, and weekends cruising the beautiful Apostle Islands of Lake Superior, camping up north, swimming in the lakes, and biking around the Twin Cities.
VP of Quality & Regulatory
Dave has over 25 years of medical device industry experience supporting design, development, manufacturing, risk management and quality management systems. Prior to joining Resolution Medical, Dave has held leadership roles in quality and regulatory in various small and large companies such as Nuvaira, Apnex, Boston Scientific, CVRx and Johnson & Johnson.
Dave holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics and Management minor from the University of Minnesota.
Dave and his family are long time Minnesota residents and enjoy spending time together in the summer and winter on the pontoon, fishing for crappies, hanging out by the campfire, snowshoeing in the woods and snowmobiling.
VP of Operations
Jon’s journey in the medical device industry started in 2000 where he honed his skills as a CNC swiss machinist for Medsource Technologies. Jon continued his journey working for Accellent, Boston Scientific and St. Jude Medical where he held various leadership positions in Development, Quality and Operations. Jon has setup, operated and transferred products and facilities around the world.
Jon’s passion for building relationships and making a difference in the medical device industry is what drives him each day.
In Jon’s words, “The most beneficial way we can provide true partnership with our customers is to become an extension of their company and business model that is based on trust and transparency. We believe that investing in relationships through continued communication, shared objectives and robust strategies will produce the results that ultimately fosters the strongest partnerships.”
In addition to being the VP of Operations for Resolution Medical, Jon enjoys being a father to 4 beautiful girls and a husband to his wife Lindsay. Together, they live in the Blaine area where they spend much of their time enjoying family and friends. As a family, their summers are filled with trips to the cabin enjoying water sports, fishing and barbecuing. Their winters are spent mainly indoors staying warm with weekend adventures on the ice.
VP of Development
Blane has over 20 years of experience with medical devices holding leadership roles in many functions including Process Development, Research and Development, Equipment Engineering and Automation, and Program Management. He got his start developing In-Vitro Diagnostic Kits in the field of virology, and immunology. Blane moved into the medical device industry at Boston Scientific, leading many diverse process automation projects including large-scale polymerization processes, micro assembly of stent delivery catheters and high aspect ratio metrology equipment. Blane also held positions as a Program Manager for St. Jude Medical (now Abbott) and was the Director of Catheter & Introducer Product Development at Greatbatch & QiG.
Blane attended North Dakota State University where he received a BS in Science & Mathematics and Certification in Medical Technology from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. While at NDSU Blane was a defensive lineman on football team, contributed to the family business by selling aircraft for Larson Aircraft Sales and worked for the Chemistry Department isolating peptides for NDSU graduate students.
Blane, his wife Vickie, and their three teenagers live on a lake in Maple Lake and love to spend time on the water and in the outdoors. With three active teenagers, Blane can be found most weekends at a track meet, volleyball tournament, or pheasant hunting with his son and their dogs, Shadow and Pepper. Additionally, Blane is a dedicated, competitive CrossFitter currently pursuing his level 1 coaching certification.
